Rotational molding, or, "rotomolded" as it's more commonly referred. This manufacturing process by which polyethylene resin (powdered plastic) is poured into a hot tub mold. The mold is then heated and spun, allowing the resin to melt and coat the inside of the mold.
The finished product is a unibody hot tub where the shell and cabinet are all one piece.
The benefits of rotomolding are:
Rotomolded tubs are lighter weight than an acrylic spa meaning you can move them across your backyard or the country by yourself with ease.
Since they are also very durable you don't have to worry about damaging the hot tub while moving, assuming you take the necessary precautions.
Rotomolded tubs are less likely to bend, break, chip, or dent than an acrylic spa, so they last longer with less wear and tear or need for repairs to the body of the spa.
